SCOFF

This  questionnaire can be helpful to detecting undiagnosed eating disorders. It is important when a diagnosis is made to NOT reassure the patient. According to Dr. Powers, it’s important to not simply reassure the patient that everything will turn out fine medically and to remember that most often symptoms of the eating disorder are ego-syntonic but the physical complications are not.

Do you make yourself Sick because you feel uncomfortably full?

Do you worry you have lost Control over how much you eat?

Have you recently lost more than One stone (14 lb or 7.7 kg) in a three month period?

Do you believe yourself to be Fat when others say you are thin?

Would you say that Food dominates your life?
